Potential transformers secondary terminals which are open should be insulated

Ground the secondary terminals on per circuit

The terminals of the potential transformer secondary have to be short circuited

After disconnecting, connect a low-resistance shunt between the terminal of the secondary

Earthing the secondary of CT

Short circuiting the terminals of the CT before disconnecting the ammeter

Switching a high resistance shunt between terminals of CT after disconnecting the ammeter

Disconnecting primary from supply

voltage, current and resistance

power, energy and power factor

insulation resistance and A.C. current only

ampere hour capacity and D.C current only

adjust its pointer to infinity mechanically

choose appropriate resistance range

set the pointer to zero by short-circuiting its probes by means of a potentiometer
